Dalkey, and The Blue of the Irish Sea

Dalkey, and The Blue of the Irish Sea

Last weekend, in the midst of the June heatwave, I got to spend a little time in Dalkey. My wife was going to some talks at the Dalkey Book Festival, and as it was such a lovely day, I wanted to capture the sea. I went to Colliemore Harbour, which I was told would be a good viewing spot. It was indeed, and from there, I had a great vantage point out to Dalkey Island, as well as the surrounding sea and Dublin Bay.

The sea was a rich blue and it was full of activity. In the distance, I could see lots of sailing boats on the water, and a few sailed by as I was standing there. There were also lots of smaller boats, with people going to and from the island, as well as fishing or just having fun in the water. I only stayed for a short time, but it was really beautiful there, and a great place to enjoy the sea air and summer sunshine.
